Dark Star Line is a London and Paris Alternative Rock project.

"Dark Star Line" is derived from the name of Marcus Garvey's company "Black Star Line" The music of Dark Star Line is influenced by Funkadelic, Jefferson Airplane, Frank Zappa, and Miles Davis. Dark Star Line was created as an outlet for the Musical ideas of William Dyson. William Dyson is a London and Pairs based Artist,Writer,Musician, and Technologist.

At a very early William’s father exposed him to the music of the late 60’s and early 70’s “My father was a d.j., and when I was young he wired our home up so that in every room there was a speaker. He would play a lot of funky music, James Brown, Maze, The Undisputed Truth and The Supremes. Later my bother and I discovered the sounds of Jefferson Airplane, Led Zeppelin, and the Isley brothers.

When we were young we were encouraged by my mother to lead lives as creative artist. My mother would write plays for us, and we would each play a role. In the afternoon she would line all six of us up and we would also learn a Gospel, Blues or Rock song. When my father arrived home from work, we would perform the play and the song for him. I found out when I was young that I had a bit of a talent for creative improvisation. I could pick up a pen and begin to draw or write; and in not much time I would have created a unique poem, picture, or song. When I began to play and create music I wanted to take this same kind of creative approach. I enjoy the artistic risk and the new direction that this way of making music can take. I think if you create art this way, the emotions, sounds, and colors that are inside can be expressed.

For me music should be about something. I want to try to create music that has some meaning. I want to create music that can be both beautiful and confrontational.”

Dark Star Line has just released their first album “Moonlight Sunset”
